Product options

1. Phases

This is the number of phases available on the power supply source.
Select ‘1 Phase’ or ‘3 Phase’ to match your power supply systems.

Example1: Gen 1-phase, Mains 1-phase (Select 1 phase).

Example2: Gen1 1-phase, Gen2 3-phase, Mains 3-phase (Select 3 phase).

You must select ‘3 Phase’ if at least one of the power sources is 3 phase.

2. ATS Switching Method (Transition)

This is the amount of time, in seconds, it takes the ATS to transfer Load from one Power source to the other, example, from Gen to Mains. The ATS operation is based on BREAK BEFORE MAKE technology.
It first breaks (open) from current power source before making (close) another source.

Instant: Very fast transition, typically 0.1 Second. Electronics mostly remain on during and after switching.

Delayed: Noticeable blackout with a full ‘OFF’ before reconnecting. Typical delay is approximately 2.5 Seconds.

3. ATS Capacity (AMPS)

Consumption levels of electrical Loads are rated in Amperes (for  Electrical Current) and usually abbreviated as ‘Amps’ or represented with capital letter ‘A’.

The higher the amount of loads you have, the higher the Amps rating you will need on your ATS.

For instance, if you use 9 units of 2 HorsePower Air Conditioners (A/C) on Mains but can only power 2 of them on your Gen, you need an ATS that can adequately handle all 9 A/Cs as well as other loads in the house at the same time. For this scenario, 200A ATS will serve you better than a 60A one.

Please note that the full amount of Loads you have on Mains determines your ATS Amps capacity.

4. Gen AutoStart / AutoStop

Asides from being able to automatically transfer power from different sources to connected Loads or buildings, Electrokristron ATS can also be designed to automatically START or STOP your Generator based on Mains availability.

Gen AutoStart: Automatically starts Gen on Mains outage. This mode can be turned off by User when Gen AutoStart is not needed, example, when travelling.

Gen AutoStop: Automatically stops Gen on Mains return.

Please see Gen categorization and compatibility table here.

5. Gen ManualStart / ManualStop

The Manual mode allows the User the freedom of starting/stopping the Gen from the Gen house directly as well as the ability to also start/stop the Gen at will from the ATS gen control switch.

Gen ManualStart: Allows User to manually start the Gen from the ATS by turning a switch.

Gen ManualStop: Enables User to manually stop the Gen from the ATS by turning or pushing a switch.

Please see Gen categorization and compatibility table here.

6. Detached Gen Control Switch Box (Remote Switch)

This is a duplication of the Gen control switch(es) on the ATS unto a small wired box that can be mounted within the User’s living space.

It allows for ease and convenience controlling the Gen (both Auto and Manual modes) from, say for instance, upstairs without coming down (or outside) to operate the Gen control switch(es) on the ATS.

7. Mains Over/Under Voltage Cutoff (Monitoring Device)

This option allows a device to be incorporated into the design of the ATS to protect against excessive voltage limits, especially with respect to Public Mains Utility Supply (NEPA/PHCN in Nigeria).

Typical adjustments will allow AC voltage (Vac) in the range 160Vac – 250Vac for normal domestic supply of 230Vac.

Voltages that fall outside this range are considered dangerously ‘high’ or ‘Low’ and are cut off from activating the ATS, until they normalize.

8. Inverter Battery Monitoring Interface – EIBIM

EIBIM stands for Electrokristron Inverter Battery Interface Module.

It is an optional modular unit designed to work with Electrokristron Automatic Changeover Switches (E-ACS) or ATS.

The design makes it possible for an Electrokristron ATS unit to interact with and monitor  Inverter batteries voltage level.

Simply put, EIBIM tells the ATS to start the Gen automatically when Inverter batteries are low.

Battery low threshold setting is User adjustable likewise the duration of charge through the Gen Timer on the EIBIM.

9. Mains 3 Phase Indication (Digital Meters)

This option comes with 3 digital voltage displaying meters as well as 3 indicator lamps helping to inform the User of the current (present) supply status for Mains power.

Ordinarily, the ATS comes equipped with 1 indicator lamp for Mains and a digital meter for the general output of the ATS.

Selecting this option makes it possible for the User to monitor all three Mains phases at once at any given time.

10. Gen Runtime (Duration) Timer

This option allows the inclusion of a user friendly digital timer that makes it possible to preset how long you want your Gen to run after being started either manually or automatically.

This feature is particularly useful if you need to go to bed at night leaving your Gen running and expecting the ATS to automatically turn it off when Mains returns. In situations when Mains does not return as expected, a preset timing of a specific number of hours will ensure the Gen goes off as soon as the time span lapses.

Duration setting range: 0.01Sec – 99.99Hours.

11. 24Hours Gen Clock  (Scheduling Timer)

Sometimes, you want to programme your Gen to automatically come on at specific periods of the day given that Mains is not available. Say, for example, 5 am in the morning as you start your day and  prepare for the office.

In another sense, you may want to programme the ATS to rotate the use of your 2 generators where Small Gen runs during the day and Big Gen runs during the night.

Whatever your gen scheduling needs, inclusion of this timing option takes care of those needs.

12. MTS – Manual Transfer (Bypass) Switch

Adding MTS switches (Manual Transfer Switch)  allow for the ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) to be temporarily bypassed in case of system failure, so you may continue to have power supplied to your home, equipment or office.

Building and ATS and an MTS together in the same box gives you the flexibility of going Auto or Manual at will.

This feature is however limited to certain ATS capacities only (From 16A – 100A).

13. 3-in-1 versus 2-in-1 ATS versions

By design, some ATS units can only handle (interchange between) two power sources. Example, Mains and Gen. Such an ATS is usually referred as a 2-in-1 ATS.

In a situation where a User has Mains as a primary power source and two generators as backup sources totaling 3 power sources, a 2-input ATS is no longer adequate.

With Mains, Gen1 and Gen2 as power sources, a 3-input ATS in needed. This is referred to as a 3-in-1 ATS.

Additionally, we may have 4-in-1, 5-in-1, 6-in-1 and so on, depending on the number of power supply inputs the ATS has to handle.
